Dear Newbie ~~ I'm glad to know you're still interested enough in God to ask questions! Now let me give you a simple answer ... one proposal. Everyone knows that the human brain is much more complex than a computer (although calculations, etc. may be faster on a computer, a human brain can do more with less information, etc.) ... so ... why don't you do a little experiment? Take all the components of a computer (keyboard, monitor, mouse, cpu) and place them all in a large box ... I'm not even asking you to go back to the plastics, metals and silicons that comprise the parts of the computer, just the parts themselves. Then close the box tightly and shake it vigorously. Go ahead ... add heat, moisture or aridity, chemicals or whatever else it takes to put a computer together. Shake it for ... oh ... a minute ... a year ... a decade ... a century or even a million years and then open it. What do you have? A bunch of computer components ... but it will never be a computer until SOMEONE WITH A MIND puts the thing together. The fact that you posted shows you're still interested in the truth. Keep searching and Jesus promised you would find what you search for ("Seek and ye shall find," He said) So if you honestly seek for the truth you will find it and when you do, He promised "The truth will set you free!"

Actually, sir, it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in an intelligent Creator. In evolutionary theory, there is not a missing link, the entire chain is missing. If it had actually happened the way Darwin thought, the fossil record would have far more intermediate fossils than fixed species. Instead, the scientific community struggles to find just one fossil that is not a fixed species.
As far as your old earth theory, that theory is also full of holes. I'll give you a couple of examples. The moon is getting farther away from the earth every year, and we can measure that movement. If you go back in time only 30,000 years, the moon would have been so close to the earth that everything on the planet would have drowned twice a day. Go back in time a little more and the the moon would have been touching the earth. Also, the moon has no atmosphere and therefore collects space dust. We can calculate mathmatically how much dust accumulates every year. Because they assumed that the planets were billions of years old, scientists put huge dishes on the lunar spacecraft so it wouldn't sink in many feet of dust. When they actually landed there, they found only 2 inches of dust, about 10,000 years of acumulation.
When you see someone wearing a watch, do you say, "Hey, nice watch. I bet it took billions of years for that to form in the ground before it became a watch." No. You know most assuredly that it was made by intelligent people somwhere in a factory. Life on this planet is far more complex than a wrist watch and yet some choose to believe beyond reason that it just happened. There is a greater chance that a tornado would blow over a junkyard and make a 747 jet than there is for Darwin's theory to be true.
The creation is simply evidence of a Creator. Now, what individuals choose to believe about that Creator is a different story, but disbelieving in a Creator entirely is simply illogical and unscientific.
so just a quick ?......if u dont mind....what makes u hang on to something that isnt real?.............is it not fact that life has been on earth for 100s of millions of years yet man has only been here for 100 thousand...hmmm a bit odd thats not what it says in the bible.....what about the fact that the universe is several billion years old?.....what about finding life that originated outside of earth?..... i hear u ppl blast ppl like edgar cayce and darwin but i guess thats what u all do best...be hypocritical dont judge but then judge other ppl make bs up and try to discredit their work....but excuse me wasnt darwin a cristian....yes he was... and didnt he think about not publishing one of the most important finding ever becuz of the effect it would have on cristianity?.....so it just proves that cristians r only cristians when they r uneducated...have a good day
