Oz~~ welcome!
In much of what you say you are right ... we ARE the only ones responsible for our own salvation ... we cannot blame anyone else if we turn away from the Savior.
BUT ... God has set some people as watchmen on the walls. These people are charged to watch and to warn the people of God when the enemy of their souls approaches. If they do not watch and warn, then THEY bear a great responsibility toward God for the souls that are lost because of the watchman's lack of diligence.
THAT is what this site is all about. It was created by a man who has been called to be such a watchman (BobW) for the express purpose of warning people against the false prophets who glut the so-called "Christian" TV networks and spend their time tickling the ears of those who prefer the "soft life" of "easy believism" to the sacrificed life of commitment to Christ.
These false prophets capture the hearts of those who haven't yet learned how to stand fast and those who have grown tired in the battle. They lure them away by promises of worldly riches and prophecies that basically say, "ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO!"
Someday we will all stand before God and answer for the deeds done in the body. Those who have used empty promises to gather to themselves worldly riches ... they will cry, "Lord, Lord! Have we not prophesied in your name???"
And Jesus will answer them, "Depart from me, you who work iniquity ... I NEVER KNEW YOU!" And I believe that they will stand there as the thousands and more they have deceived point their fingers and scream, "WHY DID YOU NOT WARN ME??? WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME THE TRUTH???"
Because of his work here, BobW (and those of us who, with him, struggle for truth) will never have to wither beneath the pointed fingers and cries of, "WHY???"
James warned his readers not to strive to be teachers because "we who teach will be judged more strictly." (Jas. 3:1)
We who believe in this ministry are not here to "blame" anyone ... we are not here to "condemn" anyone ... but we ARE here to point out the flaws and lies that often pass for truths nowadays. Many people today were not raised in Christian homes and have a hard time telling the difference between empty promises and Scripture promises. That's what we are here to help with.
Hope you will join us in the quest for truth.

I find this passage of scripture to be very interesting as to why the Lord would allow this type of thing to happen:

My personal belief is that the messages are purposely scrambled to confuse the unbelievers. Because prophesy is for the edification of the church and the people of God not for those who do not believe in Him.  Believers, however, are able to hear God clearly in these messages.

1 King 22:19

Then Micaiah continued, "Listen to what the Lord says! I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the armies of heaven around him, on his right and on his left.
1Ki 22:20  And the Lord said, `Who can entice Ahab to go into battle against Ramoth-gilead so that he can be killed there?' There were many suggestions,
1Ki 22:21  until finally a spirit approached the Lord and said, `I can do it!'
1Ki 22:22  " `How will you do this?' the Lord asked. "And the spirit replied, `I will go out and inspire all Ahab's prophets to speak lies.' " `You will succeed,' said the Lord. `Go ahead and do it.'
1Ki 22:23  "So you see, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouths of your prophets. For the Lord has determined disaster for you."

                    On the other hand:

We should be looking to God not man for answers.

In other words it is God who speaks to you personally through these messages if he chooses to do so.  The prophesies are also fulfilled when God gets ready to fulfill them.

For instance, how many years did it take the Prophesy Jeremiah gave about Israel returning back home after being scattered and captured by Babylon?  We are just now seeing this happen in modern times.

And how many years did it take for the Old Testament Prophesies about the Messiah (Yeshua) to come to pass?  We are talking about hundreds of years!

And sometimes prophesy will be fulfilled quickly. But only God knows how long.

We should be hearing from God's Spirit in our 'prayer closets' before we receive any word uttered from the lips of a man.

After I have already prayed and received a word from God for myself in my quiet time with Him, I use prophesy as confirmation only.  If God did not tell me first then I know that prophesy is not for me.

I am not defending any man but I know God is not a liar and what he says is true and will come to pass.

On judgment day you will only be accountable for yourself and not Kim Clement or anyone else for that matter.  You cannot blame someone else for your unbelief in God.
