Buffi, welcome! Interestingly enough I've never heard of Mike Murdoch before you asked about him ... However, I've done a little web surfing since then and from what I have learned he's just like all the other "false profits" ... (An amusing challenge to Murdoch can be found at TheologyWeb.com) The prosperity (name it and claim it; blab it and grab it; Word of Faith) message is always false no matter what other teachings the proclaimer holds. Many prosperity teachers teach many good things ... but that's what Satan does ... he mixes a little truth into a big lie and calls it "Gospel". I agree with Murdoch that Christians need to be politically involved as much as possible, even though Satan is the god of this world and in the end we cannot legislate Christianity ... but the fact that he's a word of faith teacher negates everything else he might say. Word of Faith is a poisonous lie that has robbed many immature Christians of their joy and faith by promising them things God never intended them to desire or possess. We're glad you came by and we look forward to hearing your perspectives in future posts!
