i'm reminded of the rich young ruler we all know the story but sometimes forget the meaning what you put in is what youll receive if its money you'll probally receive money if its faith you'll receive stronger faith and so on god knows the heart and its intent you can't get caught up in a worldly system our you will become part of the system oppurating just like it does i beleive in paying tithes and offerings and as a minister you have a right to preach on subject when led by the spirit but remember members of the church know they have a duty to pay tithes and offerings but its there choice no one elses god knows how to convict hearts to do his will some will comply some will deny but as far as most worldly systems thats all there about without money they can't opperate ther whole foundation is based on money and thats a foundation i would not want to build on because its doomed to fail sooner or later there is only one foundation to build on and that is the lord jesus christ with that comes everything else he's our provider he's are all in all just wanted to maybe help by some inspiration thank you and may the lord bless you smile

searching_girl-

The "Word of Faith" movement which mostly focuses on "money" for tithing to recieve Blessings even greater is based from God's word. The problem? Its focused on too strongly.

Those who preach it have been Blessed tremendously thru such, therefore, they preach how they've been blessed. But, theres alot more to God's Word than just that aspect. But, some are just that way. Its mostly thier putting thier testimony of God's Blesseng them first and sharing the rest of God's Word secondary. Not totally wrong as we are to share testimonies. Yet not totally right by focusing so strongly on that either.

As an Evangelist Minister, I preach all of God's Word and only so often share my testimony as God leads. I am nondenominational and so certified but not licensed. This allows me to go where God leads and freely preach or teach where God calls me to in any Church, Nursing Home, in home care centers etc.

If would like to contact me, let me know and we can work something out thru this medium, as according to thier rules here.

God Bless!!

Don't rely on man to teach you truth. Some will, some mislead. The Holy Spirit will give you the hunger you are after for God. The Holy Spirit will also teach you, 1 John 2:27, his Word if you ask, seek and knock.

Dear searcher ~~
It gets really confusing when you're left to drift alone and try to find your own way.  I worry about folks who are in your situation.  If you have a church home, call your pastor and tell him or her that you need someone to come regularly to help you grow in the Lord.  If you don't have a church home, open your phone book to the yellow pages and look under churches.  Call pastors of Assembly of God, Cleveland or Anderson Church of God, Nazarene, Free Methodist or Wesleyan churches.  While no church has all the answers these are the ones I believe have the soundest doctrine.  Any pastor who is worthy of the name will find time to visit you on a regular schedule for Bible Study and prayer.  Ask questions of the pastors you talk to about what they believe about Jesus (was He God himself ... did He die for our sins ... was He resurrected with a body?) and God (Is God a Trinity ... three persons in one) and Salvation (How do we get saved is it by believing in Jesus or are there other things we need to do to get to Heaven? If they say believing AND something, run for the hills).

I know it's hard to understand how someone can claim to be a Christian and then seem to chase only after money but many of these people have what John in his Revelation call "The Spirit of Balaam" who tried to prophesy against Israel for the money the King offered him.  Back during the Old Testament, God's people were protected against those evil prophets by things like talking donkeys, but after Jesus died, we entered a time of grace when God expects His people to be wise about such things and to study and "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."

You are doing well because you haven't fallen for what seems to be a beautiful story.  Claiming a healing or a blessing or money is all a false doctrine that is actually a form of witchcraft.  Ask any witch and they will tell you that the spoken word is a powerful thing and you can change reality by the things you say and the way you say them.  That is what so-called "word of faith" teachers teach, too.

Yes. God can heal you ... if it is in YOUR best interest and HIS divine plan for your life.  He loves you more than you can ever imagine and wants what is best for you even if it doesn't always seem like it.

Do you think a baby thinks his mommy loves him when she refuses to give him candy and cookies all the time? Of course not. And sometimes we have problems believing in God's love when He seems to deny us what we want most in this life.  But as long as what you want most in this life is a close walk with our Savior, I promise you you will have exactly what you want and work for.

Speaking in tongues (an unknown language) is a wonderful gift that God gives people as a sign that they have been baptised (immersed) in the Holy Spirit. It isn't that you NEED to speak in tongues to live for Jesus ... but being immersed inside God makes living a holy life much easier.  Receiving the Holy Spirit when you are saved and being baptised in the Holy Spirit is the difference between drinking a glass of water and ... being dropped into a 10-foot deep swimming pool. But we are to seek the Giver of the Gift ... not the Gift itself.  Simply ask God (and keep asking Him daily) for the very best and closest relationship to Him you can have.  He will give it to you gladly in exactly the way YOU need it.

Thank you for seeking truth because as long as you are seeking truth, you are seeking TRUTH and we know that Jesus said HE ALONE is the TRUTH.

I will be praying for you, Searcher.
God Bless you in your search.

Hello,
I am new to this forum and found by looking up Marcus Lamb. I am handicapped and unable to go to church all of the time. I listen to Daystar but get very confused when they start talking about healing and money.
I always pray that God will heal me and I pray that He will help with our finances but ALWAYS believe that His sending Jesus to die for me is more than enough in my lifetime.
I started listening to Daystar by way of the Joni show. I thought some of the guests on there were very interesting. Then when they had their Shareathon and I heard all these preachers talking about claim your healing and financial freedom. This one said she was a Prophetess (can't remember her name)I was shocked by her message. Then I listened to Paula White and heard the same thing. I love the singers on Celebration so I listened to that.
A good friend of my husbands lost his daughter in a terrible accident and she had a husband a two children. I called their pray line to ask for prayerfor their family thinking the more the better. I was asked about me instead and told them we were so devastated. This woman said she would pray with me but had to hurry because my time was up. When is time ever up for prayers? Then she went on to tell me her burdens and we ended up praying for her.
I heard TD Jakes on the today show with Katie Couric one time and he did not sound like any preacher I had ever heard. It was all about his books and his church and money. I thought this is exactly what the secular media wants...so they can trash Christians!
I don't understand any of this and feel like a poor excuse for a Christian sometimes. I pray and read my Bible. I was brought up as a Lutheran so I know the Bible and noticed they use one verse and then preach only on that and not in context. It gets so confusing. I can't follow with my Bible because after they use the one text all they do is shake their Bible around. Also, can someone explain the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I made a profession of faith a long time ago as a Baptist and was baptised again. Now I need something else???? Also, what is meant when they say they know things in their spirit and speak in stange languages.
This is really upsetting to me because I thought I had found a place at Daystar that I could turn to even though I cannot always get out. Help????
Sorry to trouble anyone as I would never condemn ones beleifs but try to reason with them with a Bible in hand.
