What was Paul' thorn in the flesh? What is a messenger of satan? Is sickness or diease considered a "messenger"? What was the "infirmity of the flesh" that Paul writes about?

Could the "infirmity of the flesh" that Paul writes about arise from the stoning that he went through at one of the cities in the region of Galatia? Or, could it arise from some of the beatings that he endured? Or starvation from being shipwrecked?
