More on the subject ... Judging can mean two different things.  The first, which we are forbidden to do, is to pronounce someone condemned ... going to hell ... that is God's place alone to pronounce damnation on someone because only HE can see the heart.  However, we are expected to "judge" between right and wrong and choose the right.  If we were commanded not to "judge" anything then POSTERS ON THIS SITE could not JUDGE this site, could they?  If we were commanded not to "judge" anything, then we couldn't refuse to go to a seance or a Witch's meeting could we?
What about all these cults that claim to be Christian?  Aren't we supposed to "judge" them and avoid fellowshiping with them?
Jehovah's Witnesses are a good example.  They claim to be Christian and yet they teach that Jesus was a (little g) god not God Himself.
I have decided they are a cult.  I will not fellowship with them except to witness to them because they have denied the truth of the Gospel and replaced the Christ with a false christ.  To paraphrase Paul, "Have nothing to do with the workers of darkness."
Those who cry, "YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO JUDGE" mistranslate "judge" to mean "condemn" and there is a great deal of difference between the two.

While the Bible seems to say we shouldn't judge, whenever I read words about not judging in God's word, I read words that say "IF you don't want to be judged by the same standards, don't judge."
The same Bible says, "BY THEIR FRUITS you shall know them."  In other words, there are times when you need to check a self-proclaimed prophet and see whether that person's "prophecies" have all come true.  According the God's word, if they do not come 100% true, then that "prophet" is to be ignored as a false prophet.  Now THAT is judging and we are required to do that.

Guess I will say this again, we judge incorrectly when were quick to open our mouth and comment on what peoples words don't say, this will only lead to meaningless circles as u could go on forever. so yes, being content in life covers every area of sin !!! think about it.

A new article (about judging) has just gone up on this site's home page.

And, as those of you who have been following this blog the last few days know, there has been some "viewpoint divergence," to say the least!

Now it's your turn.  What do you think about making judgments (about people, about beliefs, about ... anything)?

Can you name a time when making a "judgment" protected you from harm?  Can you name a time when making a "judgment" brought you pain?  What was the difference between the two times?  What made one a "good" judgment and the other a "bad" judgment?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you all.
