Just an update for those of you who responded (whether with a note or with prayer) Thank you.
Art is now home.  We're still struggling to keep his blood pressure in line and he will never be able to do the things he used to do (lifting more than 25 pounds, for example) but he is alive and is struggling back to a somewhat normal life.
Thanks be to God for all of you who cared enough to pray ... it made a difference.

Sorry I've been away for awhile Joyce.  My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.  May God send His Spirit and with Him His fruit.

Most of you regular visitors know me and know that I believe in the power of prayer.  I believe that Jesus Christ always chooses the best for us and that HIS will is the most beautiful thing we can seek.  WHATEVER that is.
Last Friday, my husband suffered a rupture in his aorta and he is now in the Cardio-Vascular Intensive Care unit of a major medical center where they are fighting to lower his blood pressure.  If that bp doesn't remain at low normal measurments, in about 7 - 10 days he will have to have a surgical procedure that has a mortality rate of 50%.  At this stage, his odds of surviving without surgery is about 80/20.
Even if they get the bp to stay down (which they haven't yet) surgery will STILL have to be done if his aorta doesn't begin to spontaneously heal itself.
Simply pray that God's will is done and that he will give the doctors, me and the rest of his family wisdom and peace about everything that's being done, please.

I will update this as new information is given to us.
