Here are a list of songs that I listen to on my MP3 everyday, i have probably listened to them at least 100 times each.

Freddy Hayler-- Song of Angels(song of Micheal), Mighty God(Gabriel's chant), God of Elijah, Celestial Odyssey

Hillsong United-- I Give you my heart, Worthy is the Lamb, I could sing of your love forever, Rain Down, Majesty, What a friend, History Maker.

I know some of these artist you will not like, I wasn't too sure about them at first, but they have some really good music.

Don Potter-- In the spirit, Now is the Time to Worship Jesus, I have Decided

Kim Clement-- Come to my alter, I am a warrior, Somewhere in the future, Spirit Come, Spirit Come reprise, Tell me who I am, Where is the God of Elijah

Tye Tribbett-- Everything to me

Indiana Bible College-- Revelation Song (powerful song) here you might like it.
you want to have a good day think about this song all day.
Isa 26:3  Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

I have to many songs I like you probably didn't read this far down anyway.

1. How Great Thou Art

2. Create In Me a Clean Heart

3. Holy Holy Holy

4. Amazing Grace

And some Christian "rock" worship songs:

Thousand Things- Disciple

Rest Easy- Audio Adrenaline

Fill Me With Your Spirit- Big Tent Revival

I Worship You- Big Tent Revival

There are more, I just can't think of them right now. If I do I'll add them.

A little lighter side to this question ...
What ARE your favorite hymns and/or contemporaries?
Mine are:

Breathe
(Coming Back to the) Heart of Worship
O How You Love Me
The Power of Your Love
I Could Sing of Your Love Forever

and

Sweet Hour of Prayer
Rock of Ages
And I Know (Jesus' Blood Can Make the Vilest Sinner Clean)
He Giveth More Grace
Come Thou Fount

If it were up to me, we would sing the same 10 songs every week, as that is how many I personally feel are any good at all. About 5 hymns and 5 contemporary songs. People would be mighty bored in my "perfect" church worship service.

Well if I might, this is one of the subject where a lot of the time we just have to agree to disagree. Me personally I dont care for most of the "contemporary" music. A great degree of it just seems to me to be droning monotonous drivel with no real message. Now I did not say it all was that way but most of it is.

I like the old stuff, the hymns that touched the hearts of millions that have verified right doctrine to them and teach a message as clearly as any sermon ever has. No offense to those who like the new stuff, as long as it honors the Lord as isnt just mindless entertainment there isnt anything biblically wrong with it, I just dont personally care for it. My wife disagrees with me, she likes some of the newer stuff, but like me doesnt like all of it.

Most of the time its a personally preference, however I will say this, if I was going to a sound Bible teaching church and the only thing I had against it was the music that it played, I wouldn't part fellowship with the church, well as long as the music was blasphemous anyway. Im going to sit through "Christian Gangster rap" or "Christian Heavy Metal" there is no such thing! Those styles are of the world and have no place in God's house. Not trying to offend anyone just stating my humble opinion, for what its worth.

"O How You Love Me", "Breathe", "Meet With Me" ... beautiful titles for great contemporary songs.
"Old Rugged Cross", "Sweet Hour of Prayer", "Amazing Grace", "Rock of Ages" ... great songs that echo and swell in the hearts of all those who grew up in a traditional church. Songs that preach sermons as deep as any a minister presents.
Now the question ....
Is there a place for contemporary so-called "worship" songs in the church? Do they speak BY THE SPIRIT or to the (human) spirit?
Why or why not?
Conversely ...
Is there a place for traditional hymns in the church? Are they outdated, stilted or somehow "off-putting" to the "modern" Christian?
If you had your choice, what would be the balance in YOUR church or would you go with one or the other?
