There is a Pastor Paul Washer on Hearts Cry Ministries that is a awesome preacher, now this is coming from a Apostolic talking about a Baptist, he said America's theology is 3 thousand miles wide and a half inch deep. Anybody who preaches the bible I back that person up in prayer and in support. I know when I first got saved most of these televangelist were not preaching money money money but now it is like a cancer spreading and infecting all of them. When will people wake up and stop supporting this nonsense?

As a pastor in the Missionary Church ( www.mcusa.org ), I can say I know Missionaries who are faithful to the Word yet are dirt poor. Am I to believe it is because of their lack of faith? The problem with American "Christianity" is that it is "American" in the sense of being consumer-driven. You have preachers selling "The American Dream" with a few scriptures thrown in to make it sound Biblical. All one need do is ask, "Do these word-faith, prosperity preachers reflect Christ who said, "If anyone would come after Me, let him DENY HIMSELF, take up his cross and follow Me?"

Kenny ~~ I think you're right.
Not about the coffin ... I've been in services where coffins were used to great effect ... but the music itself should not be played to "convert" people.
Just thinking about the fact that royalties must be paid to the copyright owners of any music performed in a public setting tells me either this person is paying those royalties (and thereby supporting AC/DC) or else is using this music without paying royalties (and thereby breaking the law). HMMMMMMM.
How can music expressly written to offend Christ and promote Hell ever be used for true conversions?furious
I know that many church founders (including John Wesley -- Methodist; and  William Booth -- Salvation Army) used "tavern music" tunes to attract sinners. But none of that music ADVOCATED spitting in God's face or celebrated being "dragged off to Hell".bleh
That's the difference.
Now, if I could just get the rights to the music for "House of the Rising Sun," I'd publish those lyrics I wrote for it 20 years ago!biggrin

Maybe I shoundn't watch so many things on you-tube but when I see stuff like this one I get sick because how in the world will God accept something the world birthed and accept it as ok. This one here crosses the line at the end with a coffin scene. We are suppose to be a separated people not worldly people. Knowing Jesus is really not the main thing, Jesus knowing us is very important  because if He says depart from me ye workers of sin I never you, but earlier the people said but Lord we cast out devils healed etc, this man aka preacher crossed the line in my opinion.

Yes. But don't you also think it's a shame for a preacher to leave the preaching of the Gospel to PLEASE those who have itching ears?
Shame on THEM!

There is 4 or 5 verses about filthy lucre and if a bishop, deacon or teacher loves money they shoudn't hold one of these offices. And some of the Greek translations for the word lucre means : shameful- sordid- greedy of base gain- ill gotten money but I can't blame the preachers because its the people who support there life style, like the people wanted a king even though they were warn this king is going to rule over you and use your sons and daughter and you will serve him. Read 1 Samuel 8:6-17 and see how the king will be a taker: his him himself and yours, the people who would rather follow man instead of God, total rebellion and at the end they where warn you will call on me but I will not hear. Shame Shame Shame Itching ears needs scratching

Itching: those who don't want sound doctrine heap to themselves teachers who will teach what they are itching for. ACTUAL DEFINITION FOR ITCHING

I agree Joyce. What gets me is how does any pastor proclaim to know and preach the Word and yet ignore it? Examples below. I watched a video of Jentezen Franklin before an offering was to be taken and at the end of his comments he did the "hundredfold" line, to which I asked, "what of the first part of the verse? "all who have left?"
Mark 4:16-19 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the words sake, immediately they stumble. Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Romans 12:1 & 2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed(websters:to be similar or identical) to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Corinthians 1:12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.
Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
James 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
James 4:13-17 Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we willgo to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that. But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

This is typical of what the Word of Faith teachers preach and teach!
There's nothing to be shocked at here ... the whole message issuing from these so-called "prophets" (spell that p-r-o-f-i-t) is how you can be rich in this life and if you aren't then there is something wrong with your faith!
And THAT builds bitterness toward God when you believe what they say and you search your heart to find out why YOU don't have YOURS ... and you find nothing wrong!
It's what I've been saying all along, Kenny ... WoF is a foul and evil doctrine that needs to be scorned and warned against!

Can you watch this video of a well known "teleevangelist" and give me your opinion. I am totally shocked but mostly at what the church audience does at the end.confused
